It seems like part of the formula for bending is not bending too fast but also keeping steam present during the full duration of the bend. This is a bit of a catch22. The moisture wants to boil off prematurely.
Timing is everything, be it love or lutherie.
Let's see now, in addition to the digital temperature probe we'll be needing a digital moisture sensing probe with a PID to coordinate the two. I guess a couple air cylinders to do the bending controlled by servo valves off the main controller. Hmm....maybe easier to go back to the bending iron.
